Natalie Urquhart - Director

Natalie Urquhart is a curator and writer based at the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands where she works as Director. She holds a degree in Art History and, as the Cayman Islands Cultural scholarship recipient, was awarded a first class Masters in Arts Policy and Administration, with a specialisation in contemporary curating.

In addition to curating exhibitions in the Cayman Islands and UK, she was the founding editor of InsideOut magazine, the Arts & Culture column of the Cayman Islands Journal, and has published a range of essays relating to Caymanian arts and heritage. She continues to serve as an adviser on several cultural committees. Her current area of research looks at cultural tourism and its effects on identity construction within the Caribbean.

Anne Goulden - Operations Manager

Anne Goulden, with a lifelong interest in the visual arts, came to the Gallery in 1999 its inception being formalized with the gazetting of the National Gallery Law in July of the same year. In the growing entity, Anne moved forward as Financial Administrator until 2003 then taking the position of Financial and Operations Officer until 2007. She currently holds the position as Operations Manager.  This position oversees services, systems and security for the National Gallery while allowing creative opportunities to participate in the National Gallery’s Outreach programmes, art cinema with CineClub and the development of the Gallery’s library.

With qualifications in administration and human resources, Anne has found an organization where she has been able to apply multi-faceted interests and skills, while giving time to the Cayman community; an achievement that she values along with being a wife and grandmother to a growing family.

Mona Lisa Watler  - Communications and Marketing Manager

Having been involved in the entertainment industry in the Cayman Islands for over 18 years Mona Lisa is no stranger to the stage and has performed as lead female vocalist for the band “Heat” for almost 6 years before retiring to pursue her university degree and to raise a family.

She obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication, graduating with Cum Laude honours and as a lifelong member of the Honours Scholarship Fraternity (co-ed) Alpha Chi, from the University of Tampa.

Mona has graced the catwalk as Miss Teen Cayman Islands and represented her country at Miss World and Miss Universe as Miss Cayman Islands.

After returning from University in 2005 she worked as an on air personality, digital video editor and associate producer for the Cayman 27 morning show Daybreak and for two and a half years ending in 2009, Mona worked part-time in broadcasting the news with the Paramount Media Group on Vibe 98.9FM and Spin 94.9FM.

Jessica Wallace - Education and Outreach Coordinator

For the last eight years Jessica has been developing and teaching inspirational art programs to a wide range of community members and organizations, diverse in age, socio-economic status, and cultural backgrounds.

In Cayman, as the former Art Teacher for both the Prep and High side of St. Ignatius School, as well as the Humanities Instructor for ICCI, she has created and implemented numerous empowering cross-curricular arts programs designed to create emotional well-being, personal growth and creative expression, while integrating all educational aspects of the U.K.'s, Canadian, and Cayman National Arts Curriculum.

As a published author she has reached beyond the classroom to further communicate her passion, energy, and commitment to the Arts by encouraging creative art activities that can help people resolve conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, manage behaviour, reduce stress, and increase self-esteem and self-awareness.

Jessica has also been an avid artist for her entire life, opening her first solo-exhibition before she turned sixteen. She has been working in the Arts her whole life and is familiar with all aspects of instruction, preparation, production, marketing, and commerce. Jessica is currently working on expanding the Gallery's connection with the Island's schools and advocating for the vital importance of the Arts within Cayman's communities.

Simone Scott - Cayman Brac and Little Cayman Officer

Miss Scott began her relationship with the Gallery as a member of the board and representative for the Sister Islands. Simone herself is an avid artist producing works frequently and has enjoyed creative expression from a young age growing up in Cayman Brac.

Attending the Ringling School of Art and Design, Sarasota Florida in 1992 she returned to the Brac with a wealth of knowledge of the arts and a passion to teach others while maintaining her creative flair. Simone is currently the Cayman Brac and Little Cayman Officer promoting the Gallery and Arts through courses, workshops and children’s camps.

Kerri Anne Chisholm - Deutsche Bank National Gallery Intern 2009/10

18 year old Kerri-Anne Chisholm is a recent graduate of the Triple C High School. She is focused on attaining her degree in Fine Arts and hopes to someday own her own Gallery.

Miss Chisholm is a talented young woman who is actively involved in her community, having recently been nominated for the National Society of High School Scholars membership and awarded the Creative Christian Character award among other accolades.

Kerri-Anne is also a motivational speaker and recently represented the Cayman Islands in Europe at the Global Young Leader's Conference. At the conference she attended workshops and lectures on how to be a global leader and make a difference in the community and worldwide.
