Big Art Auction

12:00 am-12:00 am

Description

Held in October on a biennial basis, the Big Art Auction seeks to raise funds for the development of the National Gallery Permanent Collection and to support specific NGCI education programming needs during the event year.  As the country’s leading visual arts museum, charged with preserving, promoting and fostering Caymanian visual culture, the National Gallery works to achieve its mission through the development, expansion and protection of a National Collection, which is held in posterity for the Caymanian people. The National Collection lies at the very heart of this mission, tracing the development of art and providing an insight into the history and creative vision of our people. This fundraising event supports this mission, along with contributing artists who receive 50% of the proceeds raised from the sale of their artwork.

Following a month-long exhibition, the auction evening includes a welcome reception followed by a lively auction. Private tours of the works to be auctioned are available throughout the exhibition run. To schedule a tour please email development@nationalgallery.org.ky.
