Welcome to my World

Works from students in all of National Gallery of the Cayman Islands' outreach programmes

21 Nov – 11 Dec 2012

Exhibition

Compiling works from students across the Cayman Islands who took part in the National Gallery’s outreach programming in 2011-2012, Welcome to my World was a community exhibition that celebrated the achievements of the programme’s participants through a presentation of work produced during the course of the year. On view in the Dart Auditorium Community Gallery, the exhibition sought to provide a platform for these aspiring artists to display their artwork, while also allowing family members and the general public to acknowledge their achievements and recognise the importance of the Gallery’s outreach activities to the institution’s wider mission.

A key priority of the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands continues to be that of ensuring the organisation provides accessible experiences for the public, creating a welcoming environment that is inclusive and responsive to the needs of our audiences. Our outreach programming enables us to maintain a vital link to our community’s most vulnerable individuals, as well as those who are not ordinarily able to visit NGCI’s physical site or take advantage of its educational resources. Accounting for a large part of the Gallery’s annual output, these classes are made available at no cost through the generosity of donors and sponsors.
