The Big Art Auction is a biennial exhibition and auction held to raise funds for the development of the National Gallery Permanent Collection and our collection-based cross curricular school programme.
Since 2011, through funds raised at previous Big Art Auctions in addition to support from philanthropists and collectors, the NGCI collection has grown to several hundred artworks. However, we still have a long way to go with many significant gaps from key historical periods and genres, and from major local artists. Proceeds from Big Art Auction 6 will help us close these gaps and ensure that the collection remains publicly accessible through inspirational education programmes and free entry to related exhibitions. Join us as we continue our endeavours to create an art museum and education facility of national, and international, significance – please bid generously!
