Lunchtime Tour: The People’s Collection (with Sign Language Interpretation)

12:30 pm-01:30 pm
Free

Description

Free curator-led tours of The People’s Collection on the first and third Wednesday of the month (English language).

Marking 25 years since the founding of the National Gallery in 1997, The People’s Collection explores the growth of our permanent collection and celebrates our ongoing mission to develop and safeguard this precious cultural resource on behalf of the Caymanian people.

Presented for the first time in chronological order – in the context of how and when each work was acquired – the exhibition traces NGCI’s strategic collecting efforts and highlights the evolution of the institution’s approach to building its collection. This innovative format allows viewers to experience each artwork as a distinct moment within a continuously unfolding conversation over the course of the past quarter century.

*This tour will include sign language interpretation by Rasheida Davis.

No booking necessary, simply drop in to Gallery at 12:30pm on the first or third Wednesday of the month, February through May 2022.
