Description
The Big Art Auction is held in support of the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands’ (NGCI) permanent collection development and related education programmes. Held every other year, this exhibition features work by leading contemporary artists before they are auctioned at a private “Sotheby’s styled” evening event.
This year’s auction will see artwork by emerging and beloved local artists: James Adams, Shane “Dready” Aquârt, Babbity Barwick, John Bird, Cameron Bridgeman, John Broad, Nasaria Suckoo Chollette, Randy Chollette, Kaitlyn Elphinstone, Kathryn Elphinstone, Samuel Etoh, Janine Every, Carlos Garcia, Teresa Grimes, Bendel Hydes, John Reno Jackson, Jason Kennedy, Iain MacRae, Chris Mann, Linda McCann, Claire Pettinati, Raphael Powery, Yonier Powery, Kay Smith, Gordon Solomon, Pam Kelly-Laurenson (Stoak’d), Karoly Szücs, Simon Tatum, and Avril Ward.
The exhibition opens to the public Tuesday, 03 September and runs until Thursday, 10 October. The exhibition will culminate in an elegant, invite-only reception and auction on the closing night.
