On Monday, 21 February 2022 NGCI was proud to host government representatives, participating artists, and esteemed guests for the opening of a dedicated exhibition for this year’s National Children’s Festival of the Arts (NFCA) entries, in collaboration with the Department of Education. The NCFA was first launched in the early 1980s and has continued to be a driving force for Caymanian arts and culture to this day.

Following an outpour of talent from students across Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac aged 4-18, this exhibition displays over 110 artworks from 15 participating schools. Featuring a large variety of media – from watercolour paintings to photography and 3D sculpture – this exhibition beautifully displays the plethora of creativity in what is the future of Caymanian art. As part of our commitment to promote art in a hybrid space of both physical and digital programming, NGCI will also be celebrating all NCFA artworks with a digital exhibition that will be available for viewing on our website later this year.

Participating schools in the exhibition include Calvary Baptist Christian Academy, Cayman Learning Centre and School, Cayman International School, Cayman Prep and High School, Clifton Hunter High School, Creek and Spot Bay Junior School, East End Primary, Grace Christian Academy, John Gray High School, Layman Scott High School, Red Bay Primary, Triple C School, Village Montessori, Wesleyan Christian Academy, and West End Primary.

A special thank you goes out to all participating schools and the Department of Education for making this exhibition possible. The exhibition will be available for viewing until 04 March in the Dart Auditorium Community Gallery from 10:00am-5:00pm Monday-Saturday.
