As we say goodbye to another year of Walkers Art Club, we would like to reflect on what an incredible year it has been. The dedication and passion of students was evident in their work, which showcased creativity and growth throughout the year. The club not only provided valuable opportunities for students to learn and enhance their skills, but also a space to develop confidence and build valuable connections with others. A huge thank you to Walkers for their generous sponsorship of the club and for making all of this possible!

In our Susan A. Olde art studio and the Exhibition Hall, participants learnt numerous traditional art techniques such as still life drawing, acrylic painting, watercolour painting, coil and pinch-pot ceramics, collage, and two-point perspective. They also experimented with new techniques such as coffee painting, newspaper mâché paint, glue paint, rubber stamp making, and fashion textiles. As part of the programme, students toured the National Gallery’s exhibition spaces, and were inspired by local and international artists, inspiring them to develop their artistic eye, and apply it to their own creative styles in class.
The end-of-year exhibition was on display in the National Gallery Dart Auditorium, from 13 June to 18 July 2025. At the exhibition opening, we were delighted to welcome the Walkers team, club members and their families. Together we had a great time celebrating the phenomenal achievements, and community of Walkers Art Club! The online exhibition for this year’s club will be going live on the National Gallery website in August 2025, showcasing the incredible talent and creative work of our students and creating a permanent record of the club’s achievements this year.

Each year, without fail, the positive feedback from students and parents demonstrates the impact of Walkers Art Club. In addition to allowing students the opportunity to develop their art skills and learn theoretical concepts, the club’s mission is to foster a diverse and inclusive environment that reinforces community, encourages cross-school friendships and inspires. The club aims to instil members with fundamental tools of life such as, creativity, a sense of community and willingness to embrace challenges whilst ensuring that members have a great time learning! When asked for feedback, one secondary student said “Every time I come here, I feel calm and relaxed knowing that I can express myself through my art around the new friends I made. I learned so much and can see the difference in my work with each class I attend, and it’s been fun trying new art techniques I never thought of trying!”.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Walkers for their generous support of the club, which is now in its 25th year and continues to be free for all participants. Thank you also to our instructors for creating and leading not only engaging but culturally relevant lessons, to Inclusion Cayman for their support and guidance in the classroom, and to all our club members and their families for your commitment and creativity.
