Racial Inequality and the Legacy of Colonialism

Racial Inequality and the Legacy of Colonialism

The Cayman Islands and wider Caribbean region continue to address how colonialism and racism have shaped imbalances in racial representation, access to resources and opportunities, and the balance of power. In this video, Educator and Activist Katlen Bush discusses the history of enslavement in the Cayman Islands and its legacy in our contemporary community. Then, visual artist Randy Chollette shares how he strives to increase representation for, and celebrate, the achievements of African ancestors through his work.
