Internships

Here at the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands we are committed to providing opportunities for young Caymanians to develop their skills and knowledge in pursuit of a creative career. We offer various Work Experience placements and Internships throughout the year which allow successful candidates to gain hands-on experience with all aspects of gallery management including curating, marketing, education and events.

If you’re a high school student interested in pursuing a Work Experience placement at the National Gallery, please email education@nationalgallery.org.ky.

NGCI Internship (annual paid internship)

This year-long intensive internship provides an opportunity to learn about the operation of museums and galleries and to gain professional experience.  Internships are fulltime and 10 to 12 months in duration and hours are flexible if the intern is studying locally concurrent to the internship.  To date, seventeen young Caymanians have benefited from this unparalleled experience in the arts field. The internship covers many aspects of gallery/museum work: curatorial, education, collections management, exhibition design, development, public relations, membership and volunteers, and administration.  The position is ideal for high school leavers post-CIFEC or A-level/IB level (age 18), for those on a gap year from university, or for a first year museum work experience for students immediately post Diploma or Bachelor’s degree level.
