Volunteer Training

05:30 pm-06:30 pm

Description

The National Gallery relies on the help and support of our generous volunteers who fill a variety of tasks on a regular basis, including exhibition hall greeters and event and programme supporters. To ensure all those filling these important positions feel informed about the work of the National Gallery and how the organisation fits into the Cayman community, we will be running a series of monthly training sessions for all those interested in volunteering at NGCI or signed up as current volunteers and who would like to attend.

The next session in the series is Curating and Exhibition Development. This session will examine exhibition curatorship within NGCI. Using a past exhibition as a case study, this session will cover key issues and best practices in museum and exhibition curatorship, and detail the process by which exhibitions are selected and developed at NGCI.

Past sessions in the volunteer training series have included NGCI 101, Cayman Art History, NGCI in the Cultural Context and Museum Education, and all will be scheduled again in the coming months.

New volunteers coming on board will be required to attend a minimum of one session and complete an induction and orientation before starting. For the date of the next induction, see here.
