CCMI Reef Lecture & Webinar: Quiet Oceans

12:00 pm-01:00 pm

Description

The oceans have been quiet in the Cayman Islands due to the border closures resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. This presents a unique opportunity to quantify how fish populations are impacted by reduced human activity, creating important insight as to how we could sustainably manage coral ecosystem health.

Join CCMI for their “Quiet Oceans” Reef Lecture & Webinar as they discuss their assessment of the impacts of Covid-19 restrictions on local marine biodiversity.

Registration is required to participate in the webinar. For those wishing to attend in person at the National Gallery, we request advanced registration as seating is limited. The event is FREE thanks to the support of our Healthy Reefs sponsors.

**CCMI will also be holding a Reefs Go Live broadcast about the Quiet Oceans study on 26th March at 10am, where researchers will broadcast live from beneath the waves in the George Town Harbour. It is free to register for the Reefs Go Live broadcast; all registrations will receive the link to watch via email. The broadcast will last about 45 min total. https://donate.reefresearch.org/rgl2021
