This painting is typical in both style and subject matter of much of the art produced in Cayman in the 1980s. Depicting a solitary seated figure and wooden jetty, Husein’s painting documents a now much changed corner of Grand Cayman’s south coast, looking across South Sound to Prospect Point, with small stands of mangrove visible in the foreground.
