This work is another excellent example of a piece of traditional Caymanian craft that combines functional utility with contemporary style and technique, in this case adopting the silhouette of a fish into the design of a functional basket. This marriage of tradition and modernity was celebrated in NGCI exhibitions 21st Century Cayman (2010) and Revive: Contemporary Caymanian Craft (2017), showcasing the continued relevance and originality of Cayman’s artisans and craftspersons.
