Dances of the Diaspora: Dance Class with Patrice Donalds-Morgan

06:00 pm-07:00 pm
Free

Description

A free, sixty-minute exploration of African Dance in the Caribbean context, its history, customs and meaning. Participants can expect to be gently immersed into a selection of historical dances that have informed some of the more popular Afro-Beat music & movements that are trending today. Bring a wide piece of fabric (to be used as a skirt) and a smaller piece for a headwrap. We encourage dancers to come 10 – 15 minutes early to register so that the fun begins promptly at 6pm. Bring a towel & a bottle of water….you will need it.

Register online here, or by email to education@nationalgallery.org.ky.
