Dear Artist,

Art@Governors has become the primary visual arts event in the Cayman Islands and we hope that you, the artist, will come out and join us on Saturday January 30th, 2010 to celebrate our vibrant cultural scene. Our Islands new Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Duncan Taylor and family will be hosting, along with the National Gallery and we extend this invitation to all artists and crafts persons wishing to participate. There are some changes afoot at this years Art@Governors so we ask that you read this application form carefully in order to decide which area of the fair you wish to be located in. Traditionally there have been no sales allowed at the festival, due to its location inside Government House, however we have been inundated with requests from artists and collectors to facilitate sales.

As such, this year's festival will overflow across the road to Governors Square and artists choosing to locate themselves at the second location will have the opportunity to sell work throughout the afternoon. Those choosing to remain inside the Governor's garden will still benefit greatly from the invaluable exposure to the 3,000+ visitors who attend each year. Please note which venue you wish to be situated in clearly in your application form. In addition to the standard rental costs there will be an additional $25 fee to sell work. This ensures that we will continue to be able to host the event without the larger standard participation fees required at most arts festivals.

Additionally, with no formal kitchen set up until February, Government House is unable to offer their Demonstrators lunch this year, but the National Gallery is working with Rotary Sunrise to extend a lunch invitation to ALL participants, ensuring that everyone involved in this event has a welcome break. Please read through the attached form carefully and do not hesitate to contact us with any questions that you may have.

We look forward to seeing you at Art@Governors 2010!
