Lunchtime Lectures
On the fourth Wednesday of each month, the National Gallery hosts a Lunchtime Lecture from12:15-12:45pm. In a relaxed and open environment you can begin to understand for yourself the art that you see.Each lecture will focus on an aspect of the current show and introduce specific topics of art history and contemporary art in relation to the show.

Curators Lecture
Depending on the curators schedule a Curators Lecture may be held during each exhibition at the Harbour Place venue. An aspect of the exhibition or the artist's work will be discussed in this evening lecture.

Art Forum is a bi-monthly debate platform for artists and cultural administrators to discuss topics relating to art and culture in the Cayman Islands. Still Life Studio Weekly Workshops (GRAND RE-OPENING!) The National Gallery is reopening its walk-in workshop at its new Education Centre behind Miss Lassie's house on South Church Street, each Tuesday between 9.00 am and 12.00 pm. Just bring your materials! Easels, tea and coffee are available as well as still-life installations, and inspiring views for sketching or painting should you need a subject. Guidance provided if requested.

Painting the Elements of Design Workshop Discover the secrets of effective artistic expression! Learn to incorporate the 7 Elements of Design (Space, Value, Line, Colour, Shape, Form, Texture) into your artwork while exploring the medium of acrylic paint. Visual instruction will be followed by a variety of quick creative painting exercises to familiarize yourself with each element of design. The workshop will close with the design and painting of your own original artwork focusing on the elements of design learned.

Interior Design Workshop With over 11 years Interior Designing experience, instructor Lisa Ebanks can teach you how to understand your floor plans, how to select floor, wall, fabric, furnishings and finishes with a basic understanding of Interior Design Principles. Each week a new component of design and decorating is introduced and put into practical use. By the end of this eight week course, students' will have completed a project binder along with visual storyboards.

Children's Colour Adventure Workshop Explore the magic of the colour wheel with fun and creative activities. Create your very own colour, learn to mix a rainbow, and apply these to your very own paintings! Try your hand at a variety of media in this fun-filled, activity-based workshop of creation with colour. For children aged 4 to 7. Parents are welcome! Dress for mess!

Stained Glass Suncatcher Course for Teens In this course the students will choose one or two patterns from a selection and then learn basic stained glass skills including pattern cutting, glass cutting, and grinding the glass for soldering. Instructor, Cindy Vellinga will teach the copper foil method by making a sun catcher, then upon completion of the piece, students will clean, polish and buff their project for hanging.
Time: 6 week course held on Saturdays from November 13th to December 18th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm Cost: CI $215.00 (includes materials)
Family Art Trek Families are invited to engage in fun educational activities surrounding the current exhibition! Choose a self-directed activity and explore the National Gallery with purpose! We provide the materials and suggested art activities related to the current exhibition, but you provide the imagination! Family Art Trek is held on the second to last Saturday of the month at the National Gallery in Harbour Place and is also available upon request for family groups between the hours of 3:30pm to 5:00pm.
